This video shows a test deployment of Europa Clipper’s high frequency (HF) radar antenna. On each of Europa Clipper’s solar array wings, the spacecraft will have a pair of these HF units that extend in opposite directions. End to end, each of the two pairs function as a single 50-foot (17-meter) HF radar transmitter-receiver. This is a prototype. The flight version is scheduled to be built in 2021.
