This video, taken during a magnetics test on June 2, 2022 for Europa Clipper’s SUrface Dust Analyzer instrument, or SUDA, shows members of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado Boulder’s SUDA integration and test team moving the SUDA instrument onto a magnetics test bench after a magnetic field background measurement. The Earth’s magnetic field and the fields from the building and neighboring equipment are significantly larger than the maximum allowable field from the SUDA instrument. Extensive background measurements must be made so that they can be subtracted from the measurement of SUDA.
